The first Keeogo ASEAN Robotics Training Center opens in Malaysia to assist with the rehabilitation of neurological patients

KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 - B-Temia Asia Pte. Ltd (BTA), in collaboration with Wistron Medical and Rehabotics Medtech, has opened the first Keeogo ASEAN Robotics Training Center (RTC) in Malaysia to enhance the safety and rehabilitation of individuals with neurological issues.

The global rise in health problems such as strokes and spinal cord injuries has highlighted the need for rehabilitation technology in the physiotherapy market.

Through the partnership of B-Temia Asia, Wistron Medical, and Rehabotics Medtech, they aim to establish more RTCs nationwide to provide accessible rehabilitation technology for stroke and nerve injury patients.

Starting with the first center at PJ Midtown, Petaling Jaya, the three companies are committed to creating a positive rehabilitation environment with the best robotic and medical device technologies.

BTA President Donald Huang stated that without proper care, patients could lose the ability to move independently, which would negatively impact their lives and families.

"These RTCs will be equipped with various rehabilitation technologies aimed at providing care and safety for patients, helping them recover faster, and giving them hope to move forward," he said in a statement today.

Managing Director and Shareholder of Rehabotics Medtech, as well as Managing Director of Keeogo Malaysia, Yee King Hwa, emphasized their intention to make the rehabilitation process simpler and more accessible for all groups in the country.

"We are determined to open a new chapter in robotic rehabilitation here, driving the country's health and well-being towards a better future," he said.

Among the products used for rehabilitation at the center is the Dermoskeleton, equipped with smart motorized orthoses to assist patients with lower limb mobility issues in regaining their ability to move and walk.

Additionally, the use of Mirror Hand is to help patients with neuromuscular disorders and conditions that result in the permanent loss of hand function.

This wearable hand frame guides the affected hand in training basic movements through mirror therapy. Impressively, it trains users to interact with real objects by combining passive continuous motion (CPM) with bilateral training mechanisms.
